- Born on May 5th 1899 in Kaipuzha,Palathuruth
- Parents : Chev. Jacob Tharayil, Mariam
- Education: - up to SSLC : at Kaipuzha, Kidangoor, Kottayam,Mangalore
- Seminary Education:- St. Joseph's Seminary, Bangalore(1919-1921);Propaganda College,Rome (1922-1926)
- Ordination : On December 18,1926 by His Eminence Cardinal Pompili
- Qualification : Doctorate in Theology ;M.A.Degree fro St.Xavier's College, Culcutta (1931)
- Public Service : Head Master of S.H.Mount High SchoolKottayam (1931-1945)
- Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Kottayam with right of succession;Consecration on October 7,1945
- Bishop of the Dioces of Kottayam,(February11,1951)
- Foundation of the Caritas Secular Institute (May 13,1961)
- Foundation of the Caritas Hospital, Thellakom, Kottayam (1962)
- Retirement fro the office of the Bishop of Kottayam (May 5,1974)
- Death (July 26,1975)
